Kiran will continue as CM till 2014, says Botsa

Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Sunday dismissed the media reports that the Congress High Command would remove Kiran Kumar Reddy from the Chief Minister’s post after the by-elections.

Talking to reporters here before leaving for by-elections campaign in Emmiganuru constituency, Botsa said that such media reports were aimed to de-moralise the Congress party cadre. He said Kiran Kumar Reddy would remain the Chief Minister till 2014 elections.

Botsa accused YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy of imposing the by-elections in the State for his selfish gains. He also justified the GO banning government advertisements in the Sakshi newspaper and news channel.

The PCC chief president said that the Central Bureau of Investigation has been probing the disproportionate assets case against Jagan Mohan Reddy without fear or favour. He said that the State Government too would take stern action, if directed by the High Court, which is monitoring the investigations.

Botsa slammed the YSR Congress leaders for targeting the Congress party and said that the former lacks an agenda of their own and trying to claim ownership of welfare schemes being implemented by the ruling party. He hoped that the people would teach a fitting lesson to the YSR Congress candidates in the ensuing by-election by electing the Congress candidates with a huge majority.
