Kiran vows to make state no. 1 in the country

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has said that the government was aiming at speedy and overall development of the people by effectively implementing clear policies and welfare schemes.

Addressing on the occasion of 66th Independence Day Celebrations at Parade Grounds here on Wednesday, Kiran Kumar Reddy said that his government was implementing kilo rice for one rupee providing food security to the poor, free power supply, Indira Jalaprabha, Upadi Hamee Pathakam to help farm labourers, Interest-free loans, Shree Nidhi, Shree Shakti buildings for the sake of women welfare, Education, Employment, scholarships, Mid-day meals,

government job Melas like Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu for Youth, ‘Mee-Seva’ scheme for transparency, constitution of Cabinet Sub-Committee to implement SC/ST Sub-Plan funds perfectly, health safety to extend medical help to the poor, Arogyasri, ‘108’ and ‘104’ services, old-age pensions, Indiramma houses and so on. He said that the State government was concentrating on welfare of farmers, women, youth, SC, ST, BC, Minority and handicapped people. He said that he launched the ‘Indiramma Bata’ to have first hand information whether the fruits of welfare schemes were reaching the targeted beneficiaries or not.
Quoting Dr BR Ambedkar’s saying ‘You will remain in the hearts of people if you lives for the sake of people—if not, you will remain like you only’, the Chief Minister said his government was striving to provide equal opportunities to all sections of the people. As part of it, the State government announced ‘Sunnamvarigudem Declaration’ on the occasion of Adivasi Diwas in Khammam district to help develop the tribal population in education, skills, employment, medical sectors on par with other people. He said the State government has extended BC and Minority reservations for 10 more years.
Stating that his government was supportive to investments, he said that his government has sent proposals to the Centre for second port construction. He also said that the State would examine the Central Technical Committee’s recommendations and forward the proposals for construction of second one.
Admitting that the State was facing severe power crisis, the Chief Minister said that the government was trying to overcome the problem by establishing new power projects, encouraging renewable energy and buying power from other States. Stating that UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh were extending full support to the development of the State, the Chief Minister said the Centre was releasing funds for several schemes and giving permissions to several projects.
Praising the police department, the Chief Minister made it clear that his government would not compromise in protecting the law and order. He also said the State government was initiating all possible steps to curb terrorism.
Quoting late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s statement that ‘Development was possible with hard work with futuristic attitude, determination and discipline’, the Chief Minister said his government was striving to implement welfare and developmental works to benefit the targeted beneficiaries. He said that he would not leave any stone unturned in making the State second to none in the country.
Kiran Kumar Reddy concluded his speech by uttering “Manandariki Mundundi Marintha Manchi Kalam’.
