Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy here on Thursday appealed to the Telangana Political JAC to postpone the Telangana March planned for September 30 keeping in view the prestige of the State and brand image of Hyderabad.
Speaking to the media here, the Chief Minister requested the TPJAC to postpone the Telangana March keeping in mind the global Bio-Diversity Conference in the City, in which representatives from 193 countries would be participating. He said, “There was strong opposition to division of the State. There were differences of opinions among the Congress leaders on the issue. As there was no unanimity and consensus, we cannot seek a time-bound solution on the issue”.
The Chief Minister said that achieving unanimity in the party on the issue was a key factor. The Congress lacks one-third majority in Parliament to solve the issue early, he said and reminded that efforts were on to achieve consensus among the parties and consultations were going on towards this end.
