Kiran takes steps for quick clearance of files

Hyderabad, April 15: FOR speedy disposal of files in his office, chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today directed all the secretaries and heads of departments to categorise and clear the files at their end as per the Secretariat Business Rules. The authorities were also asked to dispose of the files which need not require the approval of the chief minister’s office.

As against 3,740 files received between December 1, 2010 and April 14, 2011, the chief minister’s office has cleared 3,390 files. Only 350 files are awaiting clearance.

The chief minister is learnt to have directed the authorities concerned to examine the feasibility of uploading the status of important files at his office on the state government website. He wanted the officials to ensure that there was no piling up of files in his office. It is learnt that Kiran Kumar Reddy wanted the ministers and the officials concerned to clear files that need not require his attention.

A circular was reportedly sent from his office stating that except for files which require administrative and policy decision, the authorities need not wait for his approval but clear it after discussing with the minister concerned.
