Mumbai, June 18: Amir Khan’s wife Kiran Rao is leaving no stone unturned for her first film Dhobi Ghat . She wants to get the best performers, technicians and artistes for her maiden venture. Kiran has now roped in Argentine musician Gustavo Santaolalla for the film.
In a bid to make Dhobi Ghat world- class, Kiran is currently playing host to two- time Oscar winner Gustavo at her Bandra residence.
The hush- hush meeting is for the soundtrack and background score of her directorial debut.
Sources say the musician is belting out tracks as you read this! Gustavo — who has been in Mumbai for the past four days — is known for his music in films such as Brokeback Mountain, Babel, Motorcycle Diaries and Amores Perros . He has won two Oscars — for Babel and
Brokeback Mountain . Kiran was keen to work with him and when she narrated the script to him, he was quite eager to visit Mumbai as the city is central to the movie.
Gustavo also wanted to be in Mumbai to experience the first showers as there is a song about rains in Mumbai. From morning till evening, Kiran has been taking him all over Mumbai to visit certain locations and Gustavo is enjoying Mumbai food.
Gustavo rarely works with anyone and Kiran is extremely delighted when he gave a goahead for Dhobi Ghat . Kiran said: “ Yes Gustavo is in town.” But she doesn’t want to reveal much about the kind of music they are planning for the film.
Dhobi Ghat stars Aamir and Prateik Babbar with two new female leads. Since Kiran is putting so much effort, everyone is curious to see the outcome.
