Hyderabad, December 26: The Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, has created a record by spending nearly one third of his first month in office in New Delhi. He completed one month as Chief Minister on Saturday.
Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy took oath as 16th Chief Minister exactly one month back i.e. on November 25.
During his one month tenure, Mr Reddy made five trips to Delhi and stayed for nine days in the country’s capital. Though he entered the C-block in the Secretariat a week after taking oath of office, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy occupied Chief Minister’s seat in the C-block (Samatha block) only for a few days as he left for district tours. He shifted to the Chief Minister’s Camp Office on December 1.
Mr Reddy went to New Delhi on the morning of November 27 to feel the pulse of the Congress high command on the composition of his Council of Ministers. He stayed a day in Delhi and returned home. But, during this trip, the list of Cabinet members was not finalized. Within a week, Mr Kiran had second trip to New Delhi where he spent three days awaiting approval of the party high command to the list of cabinet members.
The Chief Minister made one-day trip to Delhi on December 7 to discuss the issues of selecting a new Speaker to the Legislative Assembly, which fell vacant with his resignation and appointment of new PCC president.
For the fourth time, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy went to New Delhi for one day to participate in the party meeting aimed at discussing the preparation of the AICC plenary. Again, he visited Delhi for fifth time for the purpose of participating in AICC plenary held on December 19 and 20.
During the month, there was winter session of the Assembly and the Chief Minister spent most of the time in the house legislature. Besides, the Chief Minister had three district tours.
Though the Chief Minister spent less time in the CMO, the review meetings of departments held by Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy were countable on fingers. In just one month, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy was known as a straight forward man and arrogant.
