Kiran Rule Reminds Emergency Days: TDP

TDP senior leader Yanamala Rama Krishnudu has strongly condemned police arresting his party MLAs Yerrabelli Dayakara Rao and others,who were going to Sircilla to condole the suicide of powerloom worker Chityala Lakshmi Narasaiah.

In a statement here on Thursday, Yanamala said that Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, who was promising to bring back Indiramma Rule had actually brought back undeclared Emergency of Indira Gandhi days. Stating that Lakshmi Narasaiah had committed suicide only because of power cuts, Yanamala said the government was responsible for his death. He demanded adequate compensation to workers who had lost employment because of power cuts and own responsibility for the deaths of handloom workers.

Yanamala demanded an apology from Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar for insulting the all-party delegation which met him on State’s problems. (NSS)
