Kiran Kumar should prove majority in House: BJP

Hyderabad, January 15: BJP national executive member N Indrasena Reddy has demanded that governor ESL Narasimhan should direct chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to seek vote of confidence in the floor of the House to prove his majority.

Addressing a news conference here today, the BJP leader said that nearly 30 MLAs had joined former Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s camp and were participating in protest programmes against the government along with him.

“The governor should direct the chief minister to prove his majority. If he loses majority he will not have any right to continue in office,” the BJP leader said.

He took objection to PRP chief K Chiranjeevi extending support to Congress party in the state and said the PRP’s decision was unethical.

“In the 2009 elections the PRP contested the elections on anti-Congress’ stand. How can the party now change its stand and support the Congress?” he asked. If the PRP wants to support Congress it should face fresh elections, he said.
