Like a tireless Vikramarkha, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today reiterated his opposition to bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Inaugurating Forest Officers’ Convention at Hitex here on Saturday, the Chief Minister asserted that next year’s Forest Officers Convention will be held in the united Andhra Pradesh only.
Expressing concern over the unabated smuggling in the Forest department, he said a mechanism will be in place shortly to check the menace and the government was contemplating to introduce a stringent Act similar to that of 302 Act in the department. He also stressed the need for maintaining eco balance by protecting forest land and woods. He warned that people would face fury of natural calamities if population explosion was not curbed. Keeping future needs in view, steps will be initiated to protect the forests, he added. (NSS)
