Kiran Kumar Reddy discusses ‘T’ issue with Sonia

New Delhi, February 27: With the Telangana statehood demand assuming centrestage again, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today met Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and is understood to have discussed the contentious issue.

Reddy, who arrived here yesterday, met Gandhi at her 10, Janpath residence in the evening and the Telangana statehood demand is believed to have come up for discussion.

The meeting comes a day after 16 of his cabinet colleagues from the Telangana region wrote to Gandhi demanding that the Centre take steps for the formation of a separate Telangana state.

However, there was no official word on the meeting.

Reddy, who was scheduled to leave this evening, postponed his visit.

Speculation was rife that he was asked to stay put in the capital by Gandhi.
