Kiran Keen On Making AP Free Of Poor

The 20-point Program Implementation Committee chairman Dr N Thulasi Reddy on Thursday said that the State government was taking all possible steps to make Andhra Pradesh free of poor.

Speaking to the media in the Secretariat on Thursday, Dr Thulasi Reddy said the 20-point Program being implemented by the Centre would help eradicate poverty in the State. In the last two years, the State occupied top position in the implementation of 20-point program.

As per statistics of the Centre, 15.8 to 21.1 percent of families in the State were below poverty line. The government was ensuing food security to 2.21 crore families through white ration cards, he added. (NSS)
