Kiran Falters Again While Addressing

As usual, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has mispronounced several Telugu words while addressing at the 66th Independence Day celebrations at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds here on Wednesday. Though the Information and Public Relations Department has taken special care for the convenience of the Chief Minister by printing his speech in bullet point format in big fonts, the Chief Minister mis-spelt several words. For example, the Chief Minister pronounced the word Uttaruvulu (orders) as Uttaraalu (letters).

While all ministers and leaders attend the Independence Day celebrations, strangely, this time, a few of them turned up at the State function. The Deputy Chief Minister Damodara C Rajanarasimha, Ministers Danam Nagender, Mukesh Goud, Syed Mohammed Ahmadullah, Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar, Council Chairman Dr Chakrapani, Deputy Speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, MLCs Mohan Reddy, Padmaraju Rudraraju, M S Prabhakar, M Ranga Reddy were only seen.

Though the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s ‘Asara’, Health Department’s ‘Arogyasree and Health Care Trust’ and National Mentally Disabled Corporation’s tableaus were attractive with live demonstrations, prizes were bagged by other departments.

AP Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society students’ cultural display ‘Bharateeyam’ received wild applause from the spectators. Some 1,500 students from various residential schools presented the excellent show and filled Independence Day spirit in the spectators. Several hundred students carried the national tricolor. Later, some 500 students presented a theme on ‘Traffic Safety’. Small children rhythmically performed the traffic rules using their hands and legs.

Later, some 700 students performed ‘Yoga’ beautifully to music wearing different colored dresses. The spectators were so happy that they spontaneously captured the beautiful show in their mobile cameras. Some 200 other students performed ‘National Integration’ beautifully. (NSS)
