Kiran denies differences with Botcha

The Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has denied that he had differences with the PCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana.

Talking to the media at Sarpavaram in East Godavari district on the third day of his Indiramma Baata on Monday, he has maintained that every one in the Congress party was working together and asked the people not to believe reports of rifts.

POSITION IS A MIRAGE THAT CAN’T BE CHASED

Kiran Kumar Reddy has said that position was like a mirage and could not be caught by chasing it . He said if one worked sincerely, positions would come automatically. He said that he had earlier asked for a minister post, but did not get it. However, he became the government chief whip and Speaker even without asking. He said in 1991, the then Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao had told him that he would become a minister and even wished him luck. He did not get it then as fate willed otherwise.

NOMINATED POSTS WILL BE FILLED IN ONE MONTH

The Chief Minister said he would fill up all the vacant nominated posts within a month. He said it was due to the stand of the local leaders that there was delay in filling up these posts. He has explained that when the party MLA suggests one name, MP was suggesting another. He had a word of advise for both the workers and leaders. Advising the workers to work with commitment, he told the leaders that there was no survival for them if they forget the workers.

Kiran said that the former Chief Minister late Rajasekhara Reddy and the Congress high command had appointed him as Chief Whip and then as Speaker, as he worked with commitment to the party and devotion.

When asked about the problems Congress was facing, he said problems were common and pointed out that even an advanced country like USA had its own problems. He said while workers had their problems, leaders had their own.

Kiran Kumar Reddy has thanked the people of Ramachandrapuram for making the Congress candidate victorious in the recent by-elections. Referring to the welfare schemes his government had taken up, the Chief Minister said he would never behave in such a way that the party workers would need to give an explanation to the people. His rule would be such that Congress workers and leaders would be able to move about with their heads held high. (NSS)
