Kiran dead against T state, acting as Seemandhra CM, says ex-DGP Dinesh reddy

In a startling disclosure, former director general of police V. Dinesh Reddy here on Tuesday alleged that Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy was dead against bifurcation of the State for carving out separate Telangana State and was totally acting as Chief Minister of the Seemandhra region only.
Speaking to the media here, Dinesh Reddy said the Chief Minister was bent upon sabotaging formation Telangana State from the beginning and towards that end the latter had pressurized him to report to the Centre that Maoists would resurrect and will be active in the region if Telangana State was carved out. But as a law-enforcing officer of the State, he did not heed to the advice of Kiran Kumar Reddy, he added. He also alleged that Kiran Kumar Reddy had asked him to shield his brother Santosh Reddy in his land grabbing activities. He said besides the Chief Minister, Santosh Kumar Reddy also threatened him of dire consequences if he failed to give protection in their illegal activities.
Claiming that he had requisitioned for Central paramilitary forces to be deployed in the Seemandhra region as a precautionary measure on the eve of Congress Working Committee’s announcement on statehood for Telangana on July 30, Dinesh Reddy alleged the Chief Minister chided him for doing so. He said the CM had questioned his authority to call for more forces saying that he knew more about law and order than bureaucrats. Alleging that the Chief Minister had asked him to transfer Anantapur SP Shyamsundar to Nizamabad district for ordering lathicharge on the Samaikyandhra agitators, the former DGP said he ignored the illegal instruction. He also alleged that Kiran Kumar Reddy had unsuccessfully pressurized him to grant permission for a public meeting of Seemandhra advocates JAC.
Alleging that all promotions and transfers in the Police department are done in the Chief Minister’s Peshi, Dinesh Reddy said the Chief Minister was going ahead with his personal agenda in a frenzied manner. Stating that his not getting extension of service as DGP as a blessing in disguise, Dinesh said he has courage to face the Chief Minister if he tried to resort to arm-twisting activities to wreak vengeance against him for uncovering his illegal activities. The State is not anybody’s “Baap ka Jagir to take vengeance against officials. It would be “Galeez” to disclose his nefarious activities, he said, adding that he has irrefutable evidence against the Chief Minister and his cohorts.
Alleging that the Chief Minister bore grudge against him for not yielding to his pressure tactics and stopping his brother’s land grabbing activities, Dinesh Reddy said the former released the GO denying him extension of service just two days before his retirement in order to prevent him from knocking the doors of either Central Administrative Tribunal or the High Court. He also alleged that Kiran Kumar Reddy blackmailed him showing the CBI case filed against him. He alleged that the Chief Minister conspired against him and stabbed him on his back. “I don’t know why the Chief Minister had done so”, he bemoaned. (NSS)
