The chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy seeking postponement of the all-party meeting on the long-pending Telangana issue, slated for December 28, has come under fire from different sections including a section of the Congress leaders from Telangana region.
The chief Minister wants the Centre to put-off the all-party meeting in view of the World Telugu conference to be held from December 28 at Tirupathi. Many sections, however, see the WTC is only a ploy to get the issue delayed further and to put it in the cold storage once again, as the matter is likely to cause much discomfiture to the ruling congress party.
Telangana Jagriti chief K Kavitha , responding on the issue, charged the chief minister with being opportunistic to the core, and added it was atrocious on the part of the Chief Minister to seek postponement of the all-party meeting in the name of WTC. Speaking to the media today, she urged Telangana people to take forward the Telangana movement with the inspiration from December 9, 2009 announcement.
Peddapally M p (congress) G Vivek has said the chief minister was seeking postponement of all-party meeting without any knowledge. He said that the Chief Minister need not attend the all-party meet, and leaders from political parties would attend it. He said they would meet the Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and request him not to put-off the all-party meeting. He asserted that inspite of efforts by the Chief Minister, the all-party meeting would be held.
