CPI State secretary Dr. K Narayana has said the Congress high command was calling Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy to New Delhi frequently like a chaprasi (peon).
Talking to the media here on Monday, Narayana wondered whether AICC president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh did not know the volatile situation in the Telangana region. He demanded that the Centre resolve the statehood issue immediately and restore peace.
The CPI leader said it was highly improper on the part of the Congress government at the Centre to say discussions were once again needed on Telangana issue. Questioning why the Centre held an all-party meeting when it felt there was need for more discussions, he said the Congress government’s attitude amounted to insulting the all-party meeting called by Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde in Delhi last month.
Charging that political parties have turned into ‘Bazaar Parties’, Narayana said the CPI would undertake a mass movement to cleanse the putrefied politics. Lamenting that suicides for Telangana were still continuing unabated, Narayana charged Sonia Gandhi with being responsible for all the precious deaths of young boys. Describing Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy as a puppet in the hands of the Congress high command, Narayana said he should at least come back now with a solution to the ‘T’ tangle. (NSS)
