King Salman orders establishment of body to scrutinize use of “Hadith”

Riyadh: In order to scrutinize the use of “Hadith“, Saudi King Salman ordered the establishment of a body.

According to the report published in Arab News, the office of the body will be in Madinah and will be administered by Council of Senior Scholars. The members of the council will be from all over the world.

The decree issued by King Salman further mentioned that the chairman of the body would be Sheikh Mohammed bin Hassan Al-Sheikh, member of the Council of Senior Scholars.

Giving the details of the order, Culture and Information Ministry said that the aim of the authorities will be to check texts which contradicts the teachings of Islam.

The body will also verify the authenticity of hadiths, Ministry added. However, it did not disclose the source of reference.

Further details are not shared by the ministry.

It may be mentioned that organization such as ISIS, Al-Qaeda are justifying extremism and violence by wrong interpretation of hadiths.
