HYDERABAD: A 14-year-old girl student collapsed inside her school premises on Monday. The incident occurred at around 8:45 am in the morning at Kautilya High School in Kareemabad in Warangal district of Telangana.
CCTV footage from the school showed a 9th student identified as P. Srivarshita, was carrying a bag that weighed several kilograms while climbing stairs and collapsed right outside her classroom after she reached third floor.
She suffered grievous injuries on her forehead and bled heavily from her nose. She was immediately taken to the school physician and was diagnosed with low blood pressure. The staff rushed to the MGM Hospital on school physician’s advice where the doctors declared her brought dead.

Agitated over the incident, the girl’s parents blamed the school authorities for their daughter’s death for delaying in providing her treatment and staged a dharna in front of the school demanding action against the management.
A case under Section 174 of the CrPC has been registered.
Lots of Telugu activists across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh blamed the heavy school bag actually responsible for the death of the student.
