Kidnapping gang busted in Karimnagar

Karimnagar, November 11: Police sleuths on Wednesday arrested a 4 member gang of kidnappers, who whisked away children for sale. Talking to media persons at a press conference in the evening at Karimnagar town police station, Karimnagar DSP crime Srinivas Rao presented the details regarding the gang.

22 year old Jyoti Rani resident of Hanamkunda Warangal gave birth to a baby girl in a hospital. Before the delivery she had taken a loan of 5000 rupees from a hospital worker Swaroopa and promised to give her the child. But the baby girl died and the hospital worker insisted to return the money. On 12th of last month Jyothi kidnapped a new born from Karimnagar government hospital and gave him to Swaroopa and the later sold the child to a man named Panoj Dayakar for Rs. 85000. Another new born was kidnapped and sold for 70000 rupees.

On a tip-off two town inspector G Vijay Kumar reached Karimnagar government hospital and arrested Jyoti Rani. After interrogation the accused Swaroopa, Srinivas, Kankaraj and Dayakar Rao were exposed and later arrested.

Two kids were rescued and handed over to their parents.
