Kidnapped NASR School student killed, 3 held

Hyderabad, June 09: A 12-year-old boy, Syed Usman Mohd Quadri, who was kidnapped from the Old City more than two weeks ago was allegedly killed by his abductors in Shadnagar.

Police took three kidnappers into custody and are investigating.

One other man who was earlier taken into custody was let off after police failed to establish his role in the kidnap, sources said.

Usman, a Class VI student of Nasr School, Gachibowli, was a resident of Hussaini Alam. During summer vacation, Usman went to his grandparents house at Qazipura on May 20. Usman’s father, Syed Abdul Khader Quadri, is a small-time realtor.

The same day, Usman, went missing while on his way to a nearby place of worship.

Usman’s parents lodged a missing case with the Shalibanda police. Though a missing case was registered initially, police later altered the case to kidnap after the boy’s parents received SMSes demanding ransom.

The boy’s family suspected the involvement of Aneez, a resident of Shalibanda as he had befriended the boy. Police took Aneez into custody and during questioning, Aneez took the police to a hideout at Mallepally stating that the boy had been confined there.

But the police could not trace the boy and Aneez was let off.

Since then, the police were clueless about the boy’s whereabouts.

Police reportedly traced Aneez to Jaipur, and on questioning, he admitted to have killed the boy at Shadnagar.

The Shadnagar police on Monday confirmed that they had indeed found the body of a boy on May 23. “We found the body of a boy on the roadside near Kishan Nagar.

After taking photographs and preserving the boy’s clothes for identification, the body was disposed off,” Shadnagar police subinspector Venkateshwarlu said. The boy’s parents have confirmed that it was their son in the photos.
