On Friday, Shakir’s father Mohammed Abed lodged a complaint that his son was kidnapped and the kidnappers threatened that Shakir would be killed if the ransom was not given to them.

Reportedly, Toufeeq told his friends that Abed, a native of Gurgaon, has property worth Rs two crore in his native place and hatched a plan hoping to make money by kidnapping his son.

“In actuality, Abed does not have any property and lives on a meagre income by working in a masjid,” he said

”Toufeeq used to visit Abed’s house frequently as he is a relative and yesterday, he quietly took away the boy,” Khan said. The boy was kept in a house at Owaisi Hills in Cyberabad. Police also seized cell phones from the accused.
