Kidnapped boy rescued after three months

Hyderabad, November 04: A seven-year-old boy, who was kidnapped from near his house nearly three months back, was rescued on Wednesday by the city police.

The kidnapper, Imamul Haq, an Aleem of Arabic madrasa at Rajendranagar, demanded Rs 2.5 lakh from the father of the boy for his safe release.

The boy, M A Hadi Siddiq alias Anas, a resident of Gulshan Iqbal colony in Chandrayangutta, went missing on August 18.

A missing case was registered with the police but neither police nor his parents could trace him.

On Tuesday, the boy’s father received a call from an unidentified person demanding Rs 2.5 lakh for Siddiq’s release. “The kidnappers made the boy speak with his parents and even sent a CD with the video clippings of the boy,’’ South Zone DCP N Madhusudhana Reddy said. The boy’s father collected the CD from Errakunta.

Task Force sleuths and Chandrayangutta police immediately swung into action and rescued the boy today from the kidnapper’s house at MM Pahadi in Rajendranagar.

Police said Haq had picked up the boy on August 18 from near a mosque near the boy’s house and confined him in his house.
