Nuzvid, September 19: The two-day kidnap drama of a 9-year-old boy ended on a tragic note today as the kidnappers murdered him.
Giving the kidnap case details, district superintendent of police P Harikumar said K Rahul, son of Kollipara Suresh and Lakshmi of Ramayammaraopeta, was a third standard student of John Karena Public School.
Suresh, an RTC driver, received around Rs 2 lakh towards insurance for his brother’s accidental death. Suresh’s neighbours Pasupuleti Rajesh (25), an auto driver, and Syed Sathik, a car driver, and their friend Derangula Nagaraju (17), a mason of Tukkuluru village, hatched a conspiracy to grab the money by kidnapping Rahul.
Rahul and his sister Jessy returned home from school on September 15.
Their house was found locked as their parents went out. Rajesh and his friends Sathik and Nagaraju took Rahul on a scooter on the pretext of taking him to his father Suresh.
The trio took him to Musunuru. When Rahul started screaming, the gagged him. Later, they made a phone call to Suresh from a coin box and demanded a ransom of Rs 4 lakh for the safe release Rahul.
