The special report published in Siasat daily on Thursday, March 7, regarding encroachment upon graveyard land by a local pahelwan and illegal sale to another pahelwan created stir among government circles and restlessness among Muslims. Andhra Pradesh State Waqf also sprung into action and the illegal and unauthorized construction was stalled.
State Waqf Board chairman Maulana Ghulam Afzal Biabani better known as Khusro Pasha conducted detailed inspection of the masjid after Friday prayers and took stock of the situation. Later he told Siasat daily that written complaint has been submitted to circle inspector of police Shah Inayatgunj Mr. P Satya and Assistant town planner GHMC circle no 2 Hyderabad.
Khusro Pasha emphasised that no one will be permitted to occupy waqf land and no pressure will be accepted. The local people and musallis who were worried over the illegal occupation by local pahelwan Abhimanyu breathe easy after Khusro Pasha’s visit to the masjid.
