New Delhi, May 14: Tamil actress Khushboo, who expressed her desire to join politics, is likely to join DMK soon, sources said.
Party sources said that Khushboo would officially join the DMK after meeting with Chief Minister and party patriarch M Karunanidhi.
She would soon be calling on DMK patriarch and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karnanidhi to enroll herself as a primary member of the party, sources close to her said today.
Close DMK sources said that the actress would join the party either today or in a few days.
The actor has already held two rounds of discussions with DMK leaders and would have another round in a couple of days, they told reporters.
Khushboo had indicated her desire to take the plunge into politics soon after the Supreme Court recently quashed a slew of cases filed against her for her controversial remarks on pre-marital sex made in an interview in 2005.
“I am silently involved in lot of social work including in the areas of HIV/AIDS, transgenders and cancer. But being in politics gives a larger platform and to work better,” she had said.
