Khalistani activists in Canada honour Pak Army chief, nexus uncovered

Toronto: Pro-Khalistan activists in Canada under the banner of ‘The Sikh Community’ honoured Pakistan Army Chief Qamar Jawed Bajwa ostensibly for his role in laying of the cornerstone for the Kartarpur corridor, a proposed border corridor between India and Pakistan.

The corridor will connect the Sikh shrines of Dera Baba Nanak Sahib and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur.

Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, Pakistani consul general in Toronto, who was there to receive the medal on the behalf of Bajwa, was not only seen fraternising with the secessionist elements but also peddling lies and misinformation against India.

The Kartarpur corridor is the result of decades-long diplomatic efforts between New Delhi and Islamabad.

The event in Canada, however, was to seek Pakistan Army chief’s support for Khalistan, a demand of separate homeland for Sikhs in the Indian state of Punjab.

This is not the first time when Pakistan used an overseas territory to spew venom against India in order to further its agenda of destabilising the country.

It has been using such tactics for years and has ramped up its efforts recently.

Ever since the foundation stone for the Kartarpur corridor was laid last month, Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has been working overtime to malign India and create a narrative at the same time to showcase Pakistan as a peace-loving and a minority-friendly nation.

However, in a blow to its falsehoods and deceit, the United States of America blacklisted Pakistan a few days back for violating the religious freedom in the country, calling it “countries of particular concern”.

Pakistan has already been grey-listed by FATF (Financial Action Task Force) for its increasingly patronising role in terror funding from its territory.

Numerous incriminating evidence in the past had established the fact that Pakistan was covertly supporting the secessionist movement of Khalistan. However, the nefarious agendas and policies have now taken a dramatic shift with Islamabad openly and brazenly embracing the anti- India elements in other countries.

Pakistan Army, which largely calls the shots regarding internal and external policies of the country, has been assertively fuelling and funding the Khalistan movement.

People working at its payrolls have been spreading propaganda and lies about India.

Pakistan is currently facing global isolation owing to its unrelenting support to terrorism. The US recently cancelled its military aid to Islamabad after Pakistan’s inability to take any action against surging terrorism from its land.
