KG-to-PG Education On Residential Line: Srihari

Hyderabad: Government schools will be revamped with better amenities, facilities and faculty to give the poor the best education, Deputy Chief Minister, who holds Education portfolio, Kadiam Srihari has informed the Assembly on Monday.
During question hour, Srihari replied that the government was committed to introduce KG-to-PG scheme to enable the students get best quality of education to surpass other private institutions. The Government has plans to launch KG-to-PG scheme on the lines of Residential system of education for proving better results, Sirhari asserted.
Admitting that there was delay in launching the much-hyped KG to PG scheme for a scientific study, he said steps were being taken to plug loopholes in the system and in Right to Education Act. It will not be delayed further, he said and accused the previous government of neglecting the Education sector, which was facing various problems. “We the TRS Government aims at correcting those mistakes of the past government and will sure come up with a new policy to enable the poor students pursue higher and quality education. The Government schools will achieve better results than private schools and efforts were on in that direction”, he said.
Though some of the primary schools were getting merged with each other’s efforts are on to see that the institutions show better results. Stating that most of degree and Intermediate colleges have no permanent buildings, faculty and facilities, the minister vowed to provide them in a phased manner. Decision to recruit teachers will be taken at an appropriate time after addressing the problems, he said. He also alleged that the previous governments had neglected the Education sector and recruitment of staff.
Krishnaiah faults closure of schools
Earlier, Telangana TDP member R Krishnaiah felt that while school education was swallowed by corporate educational institutions, the government hospitals were gobbled up by corporate hospitals. The TDP MLA said it was not proper to close down government schools on pretext of few students attending the schools. Krishnaiah urged the State government to own responsibility and take immediate measures to strengthen the Education sector. (NSS)
