Key accused in Mulund blast case gets bail

Mumbai, January 31: The special POTA court here today granted bail to Saquib Nachan, a key accused in the 2003 Mulund train blast case.

The court is trying three cases together: Mulund blast case, Vile Parle blast case, and Mumbai Central blast case, as police contended that the three explosions were a part of the same conspiracy.

Altogether 11 persons were killed when a powerful explosion ripped through a compartment of a local train at Mulund railway station in Mumbai on March 13, 2003.

Sixteen persons have been arrested in connection with the conspiracy, under Prevention of Terrorism Act.
