Allahabad, August 06: A key accused in the bomb attack on Uttar Pradesh minister Nand Gopal Gupta “Nandi”, today surrendered before a local court which sent him to 14 days’ judicial custody.
Manoj Pandey, who was wanted in connection with the bomb explosion that took place outside Nandi’s house here on July 12 and carrying a reward of Rs one lakh on his head, surrendered in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Abdul Jameel, who remanded him to judicial custody till August 20.
Pandey is a brother-in-law of Samajwadi Party leader Dileep Mishra, at whose behest he is believed to have hired a professional criminal for engineering the explosion that caused grievous injuries to the minister and claimed the lives of two others.
