Kevin Spacey to plead not guilty to the assault charge

Washington: Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey is due to appear in a court on Monday to answer accusations that he groped a young man in a bar in 2016.

Former “House of Cards” star has asserted that he will plead not guilty to the charge of felony, indecent assault and battery, reports CNN.

This comes almost a year after former Boston TV anchor Heather Unruh accused Spacey of sexually assaulting her son, who was at that time 18-year-old, in a bar where he worked as a busboy.

In an attempt to prove the claims as false, Spacey’s lawyer has questioned the credibility of the accusations pointing out that the teenager didn’t immediately report the allegations.

This is not the only such allegation Spacey has faced by far. Many other assertions have been made against him since 2017.

Following a controversy over these allegations, Spacey had completely disappeared from the public eye.

The actor was recently spotted in public for the first time after a gap of over year. The ‘Horrible Bosses’ actor was snapped walking to a car during the morning hours. In an unsuccessful attempt to disguise himself, Spacey wore a hat and scarf apparently to cover his face, People reported.

On December 25, the actor released a bizarre video on his Instagram account, breaking his silence about the news.

In the three-minute-long clip, titled ‘Let Me Be Frank’, the actor acknowledged the charges which were made against him and suggested he will overcome them and revive his career.
