Minister for Stamps and Registration Thota Narasimham has opined that corruption has spread to all the departments.
Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Narasimham said that he was introducing a new technology in the entire State to curb corruption in his department. He said that his department has targeted ato earn Rs 6,700-crore revenue during the year. He also said tha t his department was preparing plans to regularize the collections from stamp duties forthwith. The department was also introducing Pattadar Pass Books at man y places in the State to curb false registrations, he added. The department was constructing 44 own buildings at a cost of Rs 20 crores in first phase, he revealed.
The department was also preparing plans to coordinate with the Revenue department to extend effective services to the people. The department was introducing online registration system, which was introduced first in Visakhapatnam successfully, in Kakinada, Hyderabad and Vijayawada cities. He said that the department collected Rs 5,500 crores as against the target of Rs 5,600 crores set up last year. (NSS)
