Rome: US Secretary of State John Kerry, who arrived here on Sunday, will visit Brussels and London on Monday to affirm continued close relations with Britain and the EU.
Kerry, on his twitter account, said he plans to meet High Representative of the EU Federica Mogherini and British Secretary for Foreign Affairs Philip Hammond, Efe news reported.
Kerry said that, despite Brexit, the US “will continue to have a close and special relationship with Britain”.
He added “The EU has to take steps to respond to the voters and concerns of the citizens of other countries.”
On a visit to Britain in April 2016, US President Barack Obama warned of negative implications of Brexit.
Kerry is also scheduled to meet Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netenyahu in Rome on Monday before leaving for Brussels and London.
