Washington: Keri Russell is all set to join her ‘Star Wars’ co-star Adam Driver in the first Broadway revival of Lanford Wilson’s ‘Burn This’.
The performances will begin in March 2019 at a theater which is yet to be announced and will be directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer, reported Variety.
The highly praised original production of ‘Burn This’ was premiered in 1987, and starred John Malkovich along side Joan Allen in the main roles which will now be played by Driver and Russell. The additional casting and design team will be announced shortly.
“Burn This’ is set in the 1980s and revolves around four New Yorkers, whose lives are shaken up and traumatized after a young dancer’s accidental death.
Driver will be seen playing the role of Pale, an impulsive, hyperactive restaurant manager who begins an emotional and passionate relationship with a sensitive dancer-choreographer Anna, played by Russell.
Russell recently received her third Emmy nomination for her role as Elizabeth Jennings in FX’S acclaimed drama ‘The Americans’. She will be next seen in ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ and in Scott Cooper’s ‘Antlers’.
Driver’s Broadway credits include ‘Man and Boy’ and ‘Mrs. Warren’s Profession.’
