Kerala Transport Minister Thomas steps down

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala’s Transport Minister Thomas Chandy on Wednesday has resigned from his post hours after CM Pinarayi said there was “no need to speculate” on his resignation.
Kerala High court on Tuesday dismissing Chandy’s petition against the District Collector’s report on Lake Palace Resort said the Minister should resign from his post before approaching the court.
Earlier this morning, CM Pinarayi has told that Chandy’s resignation did not come up in the Cabinet’s meeting.
He is the only candidate from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in the Left Democratic Front (LDF) Cabinet.
