The Bharatiya Jana Shabdth has decided to contest the upcoming by-election to the Assembly constituencies of Kerala and Andhra Pradesh and Lok Sabha seat in Andhra Pradesh.
In a press release, party national general secretary Dr Lokeshan Nair has stated that the party National Executive Committee meeting was held on Saturday here. The party decided to field K. Arun Kumar, national president of the party for the by-election to the Nellore Lok Sabha constituency in Andhra Pradesh. Arun Kumar is basically a civil engineer and builder and hails from the Kannur district of Kerala. He is brother-in-law of Union Minister of State for Power K. C. Venu Gopal, who is sitting Congress MP from Alapuzha of Kerala State.
The party also decided to field K. Vijay Kumar, Kerala State secretary of the party as the candidate for the by-election to the Neyyattinkara Assembly constituency of Kerala coming under Thiruvananthapuram district.
In Andhra Pradesh, for by-election to the several Assembly constituencies, the party has decided to field Valmiki Rakesh Naidu, son of Valmiki Ramaiah, as candidate for the Alagadda Assembly constituency in Kurnool district. The party has also decided to field Dr K. Raghavendra, son of Nagendrappa as the candidate for the by election to the Rayadurgam Assembly constituency in Anantapur district. The party has decided to field Ashok Kumar Pathanga, son of Manohar Rao, a native of Tandur in Ranga Reddy district as candidate for Parakal seat.
The party also decided to field candidates for the Tirupati and Anantapur West Assembly seats. In the remaining seats where the party candidates are not contesting, the party has decided not to support any political party or formation and allow its supporters to vote according to his or her conscience.
