Kerala: Government suspends senior IAS officer for breach of conduct

Thiruvananthapuram: Senior IPS officer Jacob Thomas was recently suspended by Kerala’s government for breaching the code of conduct.

The IAS officer who is known for his anti-corruption missions was addressing a seminar when he reportedly made statements against the administration and law & order situation.

He was speaking about the aftermath of Cyclone Ochki which killed many fishermen who actual figures are not yet known to the government.

He said, “The government is acting irresponsibly…. The law and order situation in the state has collapsed,” adding that people are afraid to raise their voices against the corruption in the state.

Jacob Thomas was backed by Kerala’s CM Pinarayi Vijayan when the party rose to power in 2016, reports News18.

He was then assigned as the director of vigilance and anti-corruption bureau and later was promoted as Institute of Management in Government (IMG) director.
