Special police investigating the Shukkoor murder case arrested a senior Kerala Communist Party of India-Marxist leader, P Jayarajan, in connection with the murder of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) worker Abdul Shukkoor.
A notice has been served on Jayarajan by the special police ordering him to appear before the team at 11 AM on Wednesday for interrogation.
IUML worker Abdul Shukkoor was stabbed to death at Keezhara on February 20. The conspiracy part of the murder had surfaced following the arrest of CPI(M) Ariyil local secretary UV Venu and Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) Taliparamba block president AV Babu after one of them disclosed that the plot to kill Shukkoor had been hatched at the hospital.
