Kerala CM thanks KCR for sending relief to marooned

Hyderabad: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today extended thanks his Telangana counterpart K Chandrashekhar Rao for his spontaneous response in kind and deed. Vijayan wrote a letter to KCR extending thanks for his overwhelming response towards relief in the rain ravaged Kerala State.

In the letter to KCR, Vijayana said, “I would like to express my gratitude on behalf of the people of Kerala for your gesture in contributing Rs 25 crore relief and rehabilitation of people in flood affected areas in Kerala. He also said the overwhelming response from Telangana and others demonstrate the extent of compassion and care that we show to each other in the hour of crisis and calamity, which makes us all proud of being part of Indian ethos and spirit. The letter written by Pinayari Vijayan was received by SK Joshi Chief Secretary of Telangana Government on Monday.

It may be said here that the KCR Government offered Rs 25 cr cheque to Kerala Government and the same was handed over to Pinarayi Vijayan by Home Minister N Narsimha Reddy on Sunday. As also the state government offered 2.5 cr worth 50 RO machines to offer purified drinking waters to the people in Kerala. The Telangana Government had already sent Rs 40 lakh worth 20 tons of milk powder, RO machines and Rs 50 lakh worth nutritious food items for people and children in Kerala. (NSS)
