Kejriwal’s mission is ‘personalised politics’: BJP on MCD strike

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday held Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal responsible for the protest by the MCD workers and alleged that the latter is more interested in ‘personalised politics’ with little concern for the people of Delhi.

“The MCD used to work earlier, I don’t know what has happened after this AAP Government came to power. Clearly, there is a politics behind all that is happening and definitely it is the responsibility of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal,” BJP MP Manoj Tiwari told ANI.

Tiwari further said it is the responsibility of the Delhi Government to take care of the MCD.

“Since the Chief Minister himself has gone outside for a treatment, I want to know who will treat Delhi and who would treat these workers so that they get their salaries,” he added.

Another BJP leader M.J. Akbar alleged that Kejriwal was least concerned about the people of Delhi as he is interested only in ”personalised politics’.

“This is very typical. Mr. Kejriwal is not interested in governance of Delhi; he is only interpreted in personalised politics that is his only mission. The people of Delhi are not his concern and we are seeing the consequences of his mal-governance,” Akbar told ANI here.

Over 1.5 lakh MCD employees including sanitation workers and other employees of the three municipal corporations – NDMC, SDMC and EDMC – have decided to go on a three-day strike from today over non-payment of dues.

The cash-strapped North and East Delhi civic bodies have been unable to pay salaries to workers for three to four months now. (ANI)
