Former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has refused to take back his allegations against Cabinet Minister Nitin Gadkari as he appeared before the Patiala High Court on Friday.
Kejriwal showed up at the court today for a fresh hearing in the criminal defamation complaint filed against him by Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Gadkari’s lawyer, Anil Soni said the Union Minister would withdraw his case if Kejriwal took back his allegations, but the AAP leader refused to do so.
Kejriwal had earlier spent six days in prison last month after he refused to furnish a bail bond stating that his party’s principals did not allow him to do so. Later, he relented when the High Court asked him to not make it a prestige issue and came out of jail.
The criminal case was filed against Kejriwal because he had named Gadkari in a list of ‘India’s most corrupt’. (ANI)
