Kejriwal to announce on phase two of Odd-Even scheme today

New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would make announcement on the next phase of the Odd-Even scheme in the evening today at 4 p.m.
The state government had sought public opinion via e-mail helpline and online and that data will be released.

In the announcement, the future of the Odd-Even vehicle restriction formula would be decided.

The Odd-Even formula, aimed at curbing air pollution was implemented on a trial basis from January 1-15 in its first phase.

Under the formula, odd-numbered four-wheelers were allowed to ply on odd dates and even-numbered vehicles on even dates.

Transport Minister Gopal Rai said that the government will make the announcement after reviewing the responses received from the public through multiple channels.

According to reports, the second phase is likely to be introduced in April as school examinations will be underway in March.

The state government had sought public opinion via e-mail helpline and online and that data will also be released.

Government sources claim that two-wheelers would remain exempted even during the next round of Odd-Even scheme, as enough public transport infrastructure is not available in the national capital. (ANI)
