Vijaywada, March 29: YSR Congress leader Ambati Rambabu on Monday appealed to Agriculture Minister Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy to “understand the reality”, identify his family’s detractors within the Congress and maintain a distance from them.
Stopping short of asking him to resign from the Congress and join the YSR Congress, Mr. Rambabu said at a press conference here on Monday that he would not ask Mr. Vivekananda Reddy to join the YSR Congress, but like him to be wary of some Congress leaders like D.L. Ravindra Reddy, who were trying to malign the image of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
“The Telugu Desam Party has a tacit understanding with the Congress to bring up this issue of alleged corruption during YSR’s rule by stalling the Assembly proceedings for one week. The issue can be probed by the CBI or any agency legally to fix the culprits,” he added.
Mr. Rambabu alleged that all this was being done to malign the name of YSR and politically attack his son Jaganmohan Reddy who had floated the new party.
