KCR’s love for Modi exposed again: Uttam

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has stated that by extending support to BJP-led NDA’s candidate in the Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman election, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has once again exposed his proximity with the BJP.

In an informal chat with media persons at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the TRS support to JD(U) candidate Harivansh Narayan Singh in the Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman elections has proved again that KCR’s party was an undeclared ally of BJP and KCR an agent of Prime Minister Narender Modi. He also accused KCR of doing sycophancy to please PM Modi.
Rahul’s Programmes

Speaking about the proposed visit of AICC president Rahul Gandhi to Hyderabad on August 13 and 14, Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the TRS leaders were resorting to cheap tactics to prevent a meeting in Osmania University. He said TRS leaders themselves were unable to enter OU campus. Therefore, they are using different means to sabotage Rahul Gandhi’s interaction with OU students. He said Rahul Gandhi has been invited by the students’ union. However, he said the OU Vice-Chancellor was yet to take a final decision on granting permission for the meeting on 14th August. Similarly, he alleged that TRS Government was trying to prevent Rahul Gandhi’s meeting with Muslim community leaders by pressuring the management of the college where the meeting was scheduled.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the TRS Government has failed to prevent atrocities and crimes against women. He also alleged that the KCR Govt was also not serious about passing the Women Reservation Bill. He said TRS Govt was not serious about women’s welfare and empowerment and it had even diverted Abhay Hastham funds which were meant for women SHGs. He said Rahul Gandhi would highlight on issues concerning members of women SHG in his meeting at Shamshabad on August 13.

The TPCC chief informed that Rahul Gandhi would address a massive public meeting at Serilingampaly on August 13 and speak on different issues including the problems of settlers in Hyderabad. On August 14, he said Rahul Gandhi would also have a teleconference with Presidents of nearly 33,000 booths in Telangana which would be a kind of record in itself. He said that the Congress president would also have interaction with industrialists.

Meanwhile, Uttam Kumar Reddy spoke to Chief Secretary Dr. S.K. Joshi over the telephone and expressed anger over TRS Government not willing to provide accommodation to Rahul Gandhi in Haritha Plaza Hotel at Begumpet. He also sought clarification over Rahul Gandhi not being provided protocol as Member of Parliament. He told Dr. Joshi to act as per rules as TRS would not remain in power forever. In response, the Chief Secretary promised that he would get back to him after collecting all the details.

Later in the evening, the TPCC chief had a live interaction with party workers on social media platform Facebook. He appealed all Congress workers to make the visit of Rahul Gandhi to Hyderabad a grand success. “This visit should be the most memorable for Rahul Gandhi,” he said. (NSS)
