Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao today urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take appropriate measures to increase the number of seats in Parliament and State Legislatures by 33 per cent and reserve the same to the women at the earliest.
In a letter addressed to Modi, KCR appealed to the Prime Minister to constitute a separate Ministry for OBCs at the Centre and also asked Narendra Modi to provide 33 per cent reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBC) both in Parliament and State Legislative Assemblies of all the States in the Indian Union. This will help improve the political participation of the OBCs in the decision-making process in the Indian democratic setup.
The T Chief Minister asked the Prime Minister to create an Independent Ministry for the welfare and development of the Other Backward Classes (OBC) at National level at the earliest. He said Telangana State came into existence on June 2 and the Assembly and Council passed these three resolutions unanimously. (NSS)
