Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday welcomed the cancellation of tenders for the Polavaram project.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Chandrasekhar Rao said that the TRS was always against the Polavaram project as it displaces hundreds of tribals in the Khammam district. He said cancellation of tenders was a welcome move by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.
The TRS chief said that some vested elements tried to defame him by linking his name with the SEW Infrastructure. It was alleged that the TRS has got benefitted in Polavaram tenders by withdrawing the Sakala Janula Samme.
He warned that he would take legal actions against those who leveled such allegations.
KCR also asked Telugu Desam Party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu to ‘stop acting like a true disciple of Anna Hazare’. He alleged that several scams surfaced during Naidu’s regime as the Chief Minister.
However, Naidu never took action against the corrupt individuals. He asked Naidu as to why he got a stay on his cases from the Supreme Court if he was so sure about his innocence.
The TRS president also alleged that several irregularities have taken place in land allotments during Naidu’s tenure as the Chief Minister.
