KCR vows bandh, cops warn against disruption

Warangal, September 03: Warangal urban superintendent of police (SP) J. Prabhakar Rao warned Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) members and students not to cause disruption during APPSC preliminary exam in 30 centres of Warangal, on September 5.

According to sources, more than 11,000 students are appearing for the Group I exam in Warangal.

Adding further, Mr Prabhakar Rao said that police would step up security in and around all exam centres to enable students to write their exam.

“Already, the Group I has been postponed thrice. If it is disrupted again, it would affect those students, who are aspiring for a good career,” he said.

In the absence of any direction from either the government or the judiciary, Mr Rao said that exams would be held as scheduled. “144 CrPC would be in place within 200 metre radius of the exam centre,” he said said, pointing out that in the event of any untoward incident in a particular exam centre, reexamination would be held for that centre only.

Meanwhile, Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao, at a public meeting held at Thorur on Friday, declared that a complete bandh would be implemented on September 5 in protest against the conduct of Group I exam.

“TRS and Telangana activists are ready to brave bullets and lathis for stopping the exam,” he said, while pointing out that rule of reservation for Telangana students was being violated by APPSC.

Criticising role of APPSC’s controversial chairman Y. Venkatarami Reddy, Mr Chandrasekhar Rao said that Telangana students were discriminated against in awarding marks in interviews in earlier exams. He also illustrated this by mentioning the interview marks obtained by a couple of Telangana students.
