Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao along with his family will be visiting Vijayawada on September 27 to worship goddess Kanakadurga atop Indrakeeladri and present a ‘mukku pudaka’ (nose stud) to the presiding deity to fulfill his oath as he had promised to offer nose-ring if separate Telangana State was carved out.
KCR, after taking over as Chief Minister of the new State has already visited various temples, including Tirupati and offered different jewelries to gods. Earlier, the chief minister also offered a gold crown weighing 3 kg and 700 grams worth Rs 3.60 crore to Bhadrakali temple in Warangal; gold ornaments worth Rs 5 crore to Lord Balaji and a nose-stud worth Rs 45,000 to Goddess Padmavati at Tirupati. He also offered ‘bangaru meesalu’ (golden moustache) worth Rs 60,000 to Kuravi Veerabhadra Swamy temple in Mahabubabad district. (NSS)
