Telangana Congress official spokesman G Nirajnan today alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is under pressure from AIMIM to make alignment changes with regard to Metro Rail Works.
In a pressnote here, Niranjan opposed the changes of routes and continuation of existing one that will protect the interests of the people of various faiths. He demanded that the State government continue the previous plan of metro rail routes and avoid taking up changes in alignment at three places. Seeking clarity on the issue, he said the changes will lead to confusion among people as the existing plan of routes will not cause any damage or problem to historic places, temples and mosques.
Both the officials of the Metro Rail and the government should give clarity on the issue, he said. Niranjan appealed to the CM to invite the people of the old city to take their suggestions on the alignment changes during its proposed all-party meeting. A final decision should be taken only after the all-party meeting, he added. (NSS)
