KCR treating MLAs like sheep: Ponnam

Congress senior leader and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar has accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of treating the MLAs like sheep and trying to ‘purchase’ them by fixing a price.

Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here on Saturday, Ponnam said KCR has been resorting to undemocratic means to win the MLC elections. With 63 members in Assembly, the TRS could win only four seats. However, by fielding the fifth candidate, the Chief Minister has violated all democratic norms and practices. He appealed to the TRS MLAs to vote against their own party to make KCR follow the right path.

Ponnam alleged that KCR did not fulfill a single election promise and focused only on encouraging defections in opposition parties. He welcomed KCR’s statement on dissolving the Assembly and said that the Congress party was ready to fight the mid-term polls. (INN)
