KCR threatens to fast again for ‘T’

Hyderabad, February 14: The TRS chief, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, on Sunday threatened to go on another indefinite fast along with thousands of people for the sake of a separate Telangana state.

He also said that he would indefinitely sit in front of the Speaker’s chair in Lok Sabha during Parliament’s Budget session till the Centre made an announcement regarding Telangana.

Addressing a meeting with a group of leaders from various parties in Nizamabad on Sunday evening, Mr Rao said there would be total chaos both inside and outside the Assembly from February 17.

“It was the UPA which announced the formation of a Telangana state, but they have gone back on their promise and are delaying. Now the people of Telangana have decided to wage a war against the governments by way of a non-cooperation movement to force the Centre to come out with a statement. This time I will sit on fast along with 50,000 people at Indira Park Let’s see how the government runs,” said Mr Rao.

He assured them that Central government pay scales would be implemented once a Telangana state was formed. “Four crore people of Telangana are with you (employees), you continue with the ‘pen down’ strike and the non-cooperation movement, the government will concede the separate state,” Mr Rao assured.

Meanwhile the Telangana Employees Joint Action Committee, which met on Sunday, warned the government that it would not go back on its call for the non-cooperation movement.
